These messages are fundamentally aimed at thanking me as an individual, but I think they show a lot more than just things I personally have done for them. They show the progress people have made through their own strength, determination, perseverance, and patience. They show the things people have gained and regained though recovery. They show the way that the recovery method that I advocate works so successfully for so many people. They show people regaining their periods after years of not being able to even in treatment. They show people accepting their bodies at their natural weight. They show people eating fear foods comfortably, or for the first time. They show people choosing to recover after finding the resources on my blog, YouTube channel, and website. That’s not just about me; it’s mainly about information being made available, and about each person’s incredible courage and sheer strength to make positive changes for themselves and their lives. You have that inside of you too. Maybe I can help you find that.

“I am very thankful to have come across Sarah in the online world. She has taught me that it is okay to feel worthy in the body I am. Her strength to share her story has inspired me to be open with my own and shown me that vulnerability is crucial for connection. I have been able to learn from Sarah about social justice issues and appreciate the way she shares her opinion so boldly.” -Shelbey

“I’m 28 years old from Hungary, I had anorexia for 3 years. Sarah basically helped me more than my actual doctors. She knows the recovery processes with the extreme hunger, the weight gain and weight redistribution. Now I understand everything with my physical recovery. Her posts on Instagram and her articles are just true! She is honest, she is very positive, she has great ideas and opinion about society and diet culture. For me she is an inspiration and she actually even takes time to answer questions on her Instagram. I won’t ever forget the help I got from her!” – Agnes

“Because of [your] support and encouragement, I had a cheeseburger, tater tots, sweet iced tea, hot dog, and an ice cream from Sonic tonight for dinner – and I enjoyed every delicious bite instead of hating myself and feeling guilty!! There’s so much freedom in healing your body and finding the weight that your body KNOWS is right for you – even if that’s higher than you expected. Thanks for everything – a soft babe in REMISSION!”

“Your answer[s] reassured me that my problem was not as small as I had made it seem. You inspired me to ask for help and I was diagnosed with anorexia and am now in recovery. So I just wanted to thank you TONS for being a huge part of my recovery even though I don’t even know you.”

“I just had freaking nutella with cookies and yogurt and cereals and just a lot of yummy things for breakfast and I wanted to share it here because I don’t think I could have been able to face my fear foods without this blog.”

“Your videos help me more than my therapist! Please keep making videos!”

“You’ve helped me so much, I honestly wasn’t sure about recovery but now I have enough confidence to start my journey with the support of my family, thank you.”

“Thank you so much for making your videos! You have honestly helped me and motivated me in my recovery from anorexia. Also, you’ve helped my family understand what’s happening to me (extreme hunger for example); we all sat  down this afternoon and watched your videos and talked about how they related to me.”

“Sarah – you were one of those who gave me the courage and desire to give MM [a recovery method that I support] an attempt and . . . well, it has saved my life. Finally I feel a sense of freedom and I am incredibly grateful for you.”

“In the past week I think I’ve watched pretty much all of your videos – I don’t think I’ve ever felt so motivated in my recovery from an online source. Thank you so much.”

“I’m currently in recovery from anorexia and experiencing extreme hunger and was feeling very guilty and anxious about the amount of food I was consuming. You’ve changed my perspective and allowed me to see this experience in a more positive way.”

“Your resources have made more of an impact on my mental health than any trainer, guardian, or even website has. Thank you so much for putting my ED thoughts to rest every day and educating hundreds of (soon to be recovered) individuals.”

“I am getting my life back together. Thank you so much you have no idea how much you’ve helped me.”

“My mom suggested that I weigh myself every day, just like her. A few months ago I would have agreed, but today I instead responded with “Would that really make me a better person?” and she shut up about it. Thanks for all that you do, you give me so much confidence to stand up for myself and my recovery.”

“I just wanted to let you know what a positive impact on my recovery you are. I am so much better at telling when things are ED driven, and I’m so much more alert for having nourished myself properly!”

“Your blog is the first blog I’ve come across that really calmed me down about A – gaining weight, and B – eating more and not obsessing about exercising so much. Thank you for being so informative and helping ease my mind!”

“I just wanted to say that if it weren’t for your blog, I would have been absolutely miserable had I gone through recovery without it. You have provided so much comfort and knowledge to me; I know if I had done it on my own, I would be completely miserable thinking I was developing compulsive overeating, etc. So knowing all of this information put my obsessions/compulsions around food more at bay. I truly can’t, and don’t want to imagine what my life would be like without running into you.”

“I’m going to bake cupcakes today and cake has always been a food I’ve stayed away from so thank you for this because honestly, i don’t think i would have gotten this far without you.”

“Sarah, I’m sure you get this all the time, but I thought I’d just remind you of how much of an impact you’ve made in my recovery! I’ve not only overcome the fear of eating more, but also have no foods I feel guilty about eating or have concern of gaining weight over! I appreciate my body’s abilities and I have much less of an urge to work out. My body image has drastically improved; I went to the beach and had a ton of pics taken with friends, and I decided the weight I gained from exactly a year before made me look so much better. You are such a blessing, please continue to change lives 🙂 ❤ and to everyone struggling with recovery out there, it most certainly IS POSSIBLE and 1000% worth it!”

“Thank you so much for helping me. i’m now living a healthy life and my life is focused around my job, friends, my boyfriend, school, my aspirations, and things i truly enjoy… all because of recovery. My body image is so much better and i can eat rice without crying and eat what my body craves. Thank you so much. I can’t tell you how better my life is from a year ago. It’s amazing. I’m never going back. I’m truly recovered. Thanks.”

“I just want to say thank you. Thank you for everything you do, all the help you provide. You have helped me recovery so extremely much and I have learned everything I know about eating disorders/recovery. You are an angel. Thank you.”

“This is not a question, but just a simple thank you. You have no idea how much you are helping those suffering with eating disorders – me included. Your blog, along with many others have given me the strength to choose recovery and life over being controlled by “ana”. Keep doing what you’re doing and know that because of your dedication to inspiring others, you have literally saved my life. Much love.”

“Never in a hundred years would I have thought that I’d be able to eat this much and maintain my weight after finding my set point. Thanks for everything Sarah, you’re amazing!”

“I’ve been in recovery for about a month now, and I’m feeling so much better! I know I have a long way to go and that it’s going to be difficult, but this blog is the reason I’ve made it this far, so thank you for everything you do.”

“I’d like to say thank you so much for what you are doing and helping so many others with this. You saved me from the damage I could have further caused to myself. My family and I are so much happier now because of your help. Keep doing what you’re doing.”

“Without you I wouldn’t have even begun to contemplate recovery. I know I still have a heck of a long way to go but the steps I have made in the right direction are largely due to you so thank you. I guess you could say I owe you my life.

“What you do is amazing. The time you devote, the care and patience with which you answer the questions people send you… We are so thankful. You have saved so many lives, including mine, with the encouragement you give. Without you, I might have died. Thank you so, so much.”

“I just wanted to let you know that I got my period today! I am so incredibly happy. Thank-you so much. Without your validation on a higher caloric intake and re-insuring me that extreme hunger is a normal part of recovery, this may not have happened. Thanks again beautiful.”

“Without you, I would still be sick. I owe my LIFE to this blog, your advice, and your constant reassurance. You’re not a medical professional but you’ve saved my life (and I’m sure many others) with what you do.”

“I just want to say thank you so much for what you do. Without this blog and the advice you give, I would’ve relapsed. You’ve helped put my mind at ease over so many things and I think you’re a saint for what you’re doing!”

“Hi Sarah you’re my BIGGEST INSPIRATION!! I watch your videos and they give me strength to keep moving foreword in recovery. You are the reason I can sleep at night, keep attending school, and eat however much I want.”

“Can I say that you are one of the first people who have ever made me feel like I deserve to recover. Thank you. I realize no one has ever said that really or maybe not so clear. Thanks for that.”

“Hey, i just wanted to let you know, you have been an inspiration to me and i might actually be dead right now if it were not for you and this blog. Your effort, kindness and patience is saving lives.”

“I am so glad I found your channel today. I have watched 2 of your videos and I plan on watching many more. I am 46 and you are much wiser than me and have given me hope that I too can recover from this nightmare. THANK YOU.”

“Hey. Just wanted to share something with you. I had pizza last night. Yes, PIZZA!!! I haven’t eaten pizza in like 8 months! My parents couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it. I never thought I’d eat it ever again. I just want you to know that that wouldn’t have been possible without you. I would’ve never come this far if it wasn’t for you. YOU saved me, just like you save many others.”

“I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for always answering my questions and helping me. I truly wouldn’t be where I am in the recovery process if it wasn’t for you. Thank you for keeping my hope alive and always reassuring me. Thank you for everything. I really, really (REALLY) appreciate it. You have made such a positive impact on my life and I’ll never be able to thank you enough. You’re truly my inspiration.”

“Hi sarah I know this is weird but I just wanted to send you a message to thank you for the videos you put up on youtube. I watch you almost everyday. Im not necessarily anorexic but I think I have disordered eating. Im all the way in South Africa. Here we don’t really talk about things like anorexia or healthy weight but thanks to you I feel like I have motivation to change myself and develop positive body image of myself. Keep doing what you are doing you are really inspiring.”

“Thank you so much for your blog. Watching your video on extreme hunger totally reassured me that my eating habits weren’t me just losing control! Thanks to your video I chose recovery last night, and woke up actually looking forward to eating like crazy and started making a list of all the past danger foods I would eat today. Thanks again :)”

“I just real would like to thank you, and so would my parents. You saved my life, i would not have been alive if i didn’t see your blog.”

“I just want to say thank you. you have helped me so much in so many ways even though I don’t know you, and I am finally proud to say that I am in such a good place in my recovery. it doesn’t matter that my bones aren’t as prominent because now I can smile, laugh, go out for meals with friends, eat chocolate and pizza and ice cream and anything I like without feeling guilty. I don’t need to constantly count calories or obsess, and I just wanted to say thank you for always helping me and everyone else.”

“After 12 years, I finally entered recovery around this time a year ago. You are an inspiration to me. I no longer count calories and I eat as much as I want. Your blog as helped me immensely. Thank you.”

“I use to watch these videos longing for the day I’ll actually start recovery but you inspired me to actually go into treatment. As terrified as I am the good days I have are worth the bad ones 100% thank you so much .”

“Your blog means so much to me. I’ve always thought that recovery would mean a lifetime of carefully balanced dieting and like just making sure I don’t get below a certain weight but still restricting and still counting. You opened my eyes and honestly? I wouldn’t have decided to seek help without it because now I know that I can be happy. I’m going to have to fight to get there but, I don’t have to be like this forever. Thank you so so so much. Stay strong!!”

“Can I just say how freaking amazing it is to eat whatever you want, whenever you want and however much you want. Thank you so much for showing me this freedom if my eating disorder. It hasn’t been easy but i’m the happiest I’ve been in a while.”

“Oh my gosh Sarah I’m just so happy with myself at the moment with my recovery. I began eating according to hunger signals and I haven’t felt this alive since I became ill. Your blog has helped me so so much and I truly appreciate all you do. I definitely would not have been able to get to this point without the information and help you provide, thank you so much.”

“I’m endless grateful to you, your experience and kindness healed so many lives, mine too. If I hadn’t found this site, I would have never started to recover and surely died. You showed me why it’s essential to repair yourself. I recognized myself in all your articles about anorexia. It’s just wonderful to find someone who really understand your feelings because felt the same! I’m from Russia, we don’t have much info about ED, so you really saved me! thanks a lot!”

“I realise you must get this quite often, but I just wanted to add to the love – you have honestly given me my life back. And although I’m not in remission quite yet, you have been my inspiration to recover, YourEatopia [now The ED Institute] gave me the option I needed, but you were the one who motivated me to choose such an option. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for being here Sarah.”

“Thanks so much for all you do! You have helped me have the courage to recover. “

“I just want to say thank you so much for helping me recover! I can eat with no shame or guilt now and it’s so liberating! “

“Had I not found your blog I would not be in the place I am now; remission. I was never diagnosed with anorexia but with a bmi of 19 I was very underweight for my body type. One day I came across this blog whilst searching how to be healthy again and I’ve never looked back. I am now healthy, happy and have my life back. Yes I’m ‘curvy’ but in all the right places. I’ve come to realise that life is much more than the the number on a stupid scale. Thank you so much for helping me get through this.”

“I’m sure you get loads of these messages but you saved my life. I followed all your advice, starting over a year ago, and here I am with better grades, amazing friends, a feminine body that will give me children one day and so much confidence. I wouldn’t have got here without you. Thank you so so much for everything you’ve done for me and I hope you’re doing well.”

“I just want to thank you for running this blog and helping people like me who are struggling through recovery. Your blog has helped me so much; from being sick to choosing recovery. My whole life revolved around my disorder. I am now much happier and I am (slowly, but still) beginning to being able to focus on and enjoy other things again; reading and just relaxing. Thank you so much for all you have done; you are an amazing person!”

“Thank you so much Sarah for helping me once again. Without your help my recovery would be a completely different story. You’re an inspiration. Thank you.”

“Honestly you have given me the tools to stay afloat in my recovery I honestly probably would’ve relapsed but i always come back to your blog and the resources on your blog so thank you very much.”

“I just want to say that I love you. And I owe you so much. Your unrestricted approach to recovery is so refreshing and has helped give me my life back. Thank you. Thank you so much.”

“Sarah, i want to thank you so much for being my biggest inspiration to recover. Without you, i don’t know where i’d be.”

“I wouldn’t be here without you. You literally deserve an award for what you do. I’ve never been so happy in myself and I actually wore a tight top today because I wanted to show of my little round tummy and yes, sometimes I don’t feel the best or might want to gain more but overall I can honestly say I love myself, and that’s mainly because of you.”

“You’ve helped me more than anyone else in my recovery. i had a zillion weird questions at the beginning – and having someone legitimately care so much and give encouragement and advice is amazing. I feel a lot more at peace with my roller-coaster recovery nowadays, and I owe a lot of my success to you.”

I also feel that you’re a very powerful and inspiring writer and I’m so thankful to have stumbled across your page. I’m not entirely open about my recovery and it’s been a hell of a road- but reading your posts make me feel like I’m having an open conversation with someone who knows exactly what I’m thinking and feeling – everything I hope for, the things that scare me and the things that I work to overcome every day. I’m very glad you were able to over come this and thank you for being brave enough to share your experiences with others who are trying to accomplish the same thing 🙂
